Will the astros be any good this year?

The Houston Astros have enjoyed a decade of what seems to be expected success, but this year, the vibes around the league seem different. After missing the postseason last year, coupled with the late-season run made by Seattle, the Astros aren’t the AL West frontrunners in 2026.

But that doesn’t mean they won’t be right in the thick of it, and frankly, if some of their young pitchers can make that next step, the ‘Stros could walk away with another division title.

The Astros offense, when healthy, is dangerous. Isaac Paredes was excellent until his injury, and Yordan Alvarez really never got going in a season plagued by injuries. After a bad first season in Houston, Christian Walker could be a huge piece of the puzzle if he can find the success he had for so long in Arizona.

I don’t see the AL West being overly strong. I think Seattle will likely regress, leaving the door open for Houston. I see them hovering around 92 wins and taking the division.
